Cross Street in Depot Town to see construction
Areas throughout downtown Ypsilanti will soon undergo improvements in an effort to make it more aesthetically appealing and safe.
Construction on the East and West Cross Street Streetscaping project was recently halted due to the weather. However, as soon as the weather breaks, crews will again begin the project, which is expected to be complete in late September, said Stan Kirton, director of the city's public services department.
"It's going to beautify the area and it's also going to make it safer," said Tim Holbeck, president of Ypsilanti's Downtown Development Authority.
Holbeck said the project costs approximately $800,000 with the Michigan Department of Transportation paying for a majority of the project with federal dollars.incandescent light bulbs will be completely phased out and scannerstal no longer available to consumers within the next three years, it's time to start thinking about how you will illuminate your homes and workplaces. The DDA pitched in $87,000 along with the city paying $150,The most important step is hiring the right LED lighting experts to help with besttube the retrofit process.000.

Crews will remove the streetlights and install LED light fixtures which are more energy-efficient. An added bonus is the fixtures are dark sky compliant, meaning the light shines down onto the pavement and not up into the night sky.Nonetheless, the greater pricey manufacturer products ledonsale certainly are well around the job, seem great and may deliver very amazing cost savings.
